IKEA has recalled more than 27,000 of its Blavingad fishing game, as it can pose a choking hazard to kids.

The fishing game recall was published to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website April 6. It applies to about 25,000 of the IKEA Blavingad games sold in the United States and about 2,200 sold in Canada.

According to the recall, a small metal rivet within a wooden play piece can come loose and detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Globally, IKEA has received notice of four incident reports of the rivet coming loose, the company said. None of the reported incidents occurred in the U.S. or required medical attention.

The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Immediately stop using the product, IKEA says

Consumers should immediately stop using the Blavingad fishing game and contact IKEA for a full refund, the recall states.

The ocean-themed fishing game consists of two wooden fishing lines with string and magnets to attract wooden play pieces with metal rivets.

The game consists of 11 pieces and a die and was sold at IKEA stores and online at IKEA.com from October 2022 through March 2023 for about $15.

Meanwhile, IKEA has initiated a recall on more than 39,000 of its Lettan mirrors, as the mirror can fall, posing a laceration hazard.
