Lil Anglers has initiated a recall for around 78,500 of its Children’s Fishing Rods sold with Kid Casters No Tangle Combos over concerns they contain lead levels exceeding the federal lead content ban.

The recall includes around 2,250 of the Lil Anglers fishing rods sold in Canada, according to a recall published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on April 20.

Consumers are advised to immediately take the recalled Lil Anglers fishing rods away from children, stop using them, and return them to the company to receive either a full refund or a replacement fishing rod free of charge.

Recalled Lil Anglers fishing rods sold for between $25 and $35

The recalled Lil Anglers fishing rods were sold at Academy Sports and Outdoors, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Bass Pro Shops and other outdoor sports stores nationwide and online for between $25 and $35 from January 2021 through March 2023.

The CPSC said no injuries have been reported that would be connected to the recall. Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact Lil Anglers directly by phone at 844-347-4543, by email, or online

In another recent recall involving a product for children, Delta Enterprise Corp. recalled 43,380 of its 2-in-1 outdoor kids’ swings earlier this month over concerns the swing’s restraint straps can break, posing a fall hazard.
