According to a recall notice posted by the Canadian government, the recalled chicken nuggets were sold in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. So far, no illnesses have been reported in connection to the chicken nuggets, JD Sweid Foods says.

The company is urging consumers not to eat the recalled nuggets, which come in a 3 kg bag with the UPC 0 66123 52102 0, code 3141, and best-before date of Nov. 10, 2022.

It is also asking consumers to check their homes for the recalled products, and, if found, to throw them out or return them to the location where they were purchased.

โ€œFood contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,โ€ the recall notice says. โ€œYoung children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.โ€

Hampton House Says Consumers Who Ate Chicken Nuggets, Became Sick Should Call Doctorย

The company is asking consumers who ate the product and think it made them sick to call their doctor.

JD Sweid Foods says the recall was triggered by test results. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)ย  says it is conducting a food safety investigation and verifying that the industry is removing the recalled product from the marketplace.

Earlier this year, four heat-and-eat meals from the brand Save-on-Foods were recalled in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon due to possible salmonella contamination. The CFIA issued the recall of Save-on-Foods Lemon Chicken Combo Meal, Sweet & Sour Pork Meal, Ginger Beef Combo Meal and Honey Garlic Chicken Combo Meal, saying it was triggered by its inspection activities.
