No reports of illness from Dole recall, cross-contamination risk remains

Dole says it has not received any reports of illness related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Listeria can lead to serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people or those with a weakened immune system. However, it more commonly leads to high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in healthy individuals, the Dole recall says.

The Dole Consumer Response Center can be reached at 800-356-3111 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday.
