Sliced Mushrooms Recalled for Listeria
In food, Carleton Mushroom issued a recall earlier this week after discovering some of its sliced mushroom products may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, reports Food Safety News.
The company is reporting that the affected mushrooms were sold in Ontario and Quebec and may have made their way to other regions as well.
Carleton is advising consumers to discard the recalled mushrooms. There have been no illnesses reported thus far, the company says.
Recall Issued for Farm Boys Dijon Mustard
Farm Boys, meanwhile, issued a recall on Nov. 1 for its name-brand Dijon Mustard which has been sold in Ontario, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFPA).
The affected mustard was recalled due to allergy concerns after it was discovered the product could contain egg, which had been undeclared by the company, reports the CFPA.
The CFPA is advising consumers to not “use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product.”
Walmart Sold Safety Shoes That Pose Crush Hazard
In footwear, Walmart recalled its Workload Men’s Safety Shoes on Oct. 27 over concerns they could pose a crush hazard.
The issue stems from a problem with the shoe’s toe caps, which Health Canada says may not meet standards set by the CSA.
Consumers are being advised to return the shoes to their nearest Walmart, where they can receive a refund.
Cabinet Hardware Recalled from Home Depot for Laceration Hazard
Home Depot, in the meantime, issued a recall for its Mercury Glass Cabinet Knobs, which the company says can break during use, posing a potential laceration hazard.
The affected knobs are in the shape of a flower and are painted to give them the appearance of being mercury glass, says Home Depot.
Recalled knobs have a retail value of $4 to $6, according to the company, which is advising consumers to remove and stop using them immediately.
Home Depot is also advising consumers to contact Liberty Customer Care at 844-811-4541 to receive directions on how to get a full refund.
Coleman Recalls Stove for Exposure Risk
In the camping sector, Coleman announced a recall on Nov. 4 for its Classic 2 Burner Naphtha Stove product, over inadequate hazard labeling and child-proof packaging.
Coleman warns the issue may lead to unintentional chemical exposure that could result in serious injury or death.
The affected camping stove has a green body and a red fuel tank that is connected to the stove with a small chain.
Coleman is asking consumers to contact them to get a new childproof cap and updated warning labels.
TUMS Recalled After Metal Fragments Discovered
Finally, GSK Consumer Healthcare ULC has issued a recall for two lots of TUMS Assorted Berries Extra Strength Tablets, which Health Canada says may contain metal fragments.
The affected product was sold at Canadian stores — including Costco — and by online retailers between October 2020 and January 2021.
Consumers are being advised to stop using the product and to consult a health professional if they are experiencing any health concerns.
