Health Canada has issued a recall for glow in the dark party favours, Party-Eh! Glow Set 24 Pieces due to some of the whistles in the pack possibly exceeding the legal decibel limit for a toy and posing an auditory risk to party-goers.
In the Health Canada recall notice, the regulatory agency said that consumers should immediately stop using the whistles and dispose of them or return them with a receipt to the nearest Wal-Mart Canada retail location for a refund.
The company reported it had sold 12,638 of the sets in Canada between June 2020 and June 2021, but said so far no reports of incidents or injuries had been reported in the country.
Whistles in Party-Eh! Party Favours Too Loud, Says Health Canada Recall
The product is a single foil bag containing four units each of plastic clappers, plastic flying discs, plastic planes, plastic paddle balls, plastic spin tops, and plastic whistles, in a variety of glow-in-the-dark colours, including yellow, pink, blue, and green. The UPC bar code is 4894152122859.
“Some whistles in the recalled party packs, when blown at maximum loudness, may have the potential to exceed the decibel limit requirement for toys under the Toys Regulations,” the agency said in the recall notice.
The party favours were made in China.
