Grizzly Industrial recalled around 21,300 of its Grizzly Industrial and Shop Fox Wood Lathes over concerns their cutting tool could break, creating an injury and laceration hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission published the recall Nov. 2. It also includes around 60 units sold in Canada.
Grizzly Industrial says it is concerned a broken cutting tool on the recalled wood lathes may lead to projectiles striking a user or bystander and could cut a user via direct contact with the tool.
The recall involves all model G0584 and G0462 Grizzly Industrial and model W1758 Shop Fox wood lathes.
Consumers urged to immediately stop using wood lathes, recall states
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lathes and contact Grizzly Industrial for instructions on how to receive a free repair kit, according to the recall.
Grizzly Industrial says it received four reports of the cutting tool on the recalled wood lathes breaking, leading to one injury.
The company sold the recalled wood lathes both online and nationwide at a variety of hardware stores from February 2005 to January 2023 for $400 to $1,550, according to the wood lathes recall.
