Polaris off-road vehicles recall overview:

  • Who: Polaris recalled around 2,500 of its model year 2023 and 2024 off-road vehicles in the United States and around 170 in Canada.
  • Why: The vehicle manufacturer is concerned the recalled off-road vehicles may contain an improperly routed brake line that could contact the front wheels while a vehicle is in operation, causing brake line damage and brake loss.
  • Where: The recall impacts consumers nationwide and in Canada.

Polaris issued a recall for around 2,500 model year 2023 and 2024 off-road vehicles over concerns they may be equipped with an improperly routed brake line that could contact the front wheels while a vehicle is in operation, resulting in brake line damage and brake loss.

The recall, which the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission published Oct. 19, involves Polaris’ model year 2023 RZR PRO XP and PRO XP 4 and model year 2024 RZR XP and XP 4 recreational off-road vehicles. It also applies to 170 vehicles in Canada.

Polaris says it received three reports of brake lines being incorrectly installed on the recalled off-road vehicles, leading to a loss of brake function, including one report of impact with a large rock.

Consumers advised to immediately stop using recalled Polaris off-road vehicles

Polaris advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled vehicles to contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair, according to the recall.

The company also says it is directly contacting registered owners of the recalled off-road vehicles and has notified consumers to stop riding them.

Polaris sold the recalled vehicles at authorized Polaris dealers nationwide for $21,000 to $37,000 from Jan. 2023 to Aug. 2023.

In August, Polaris recalled around 15,900 of its model year 2022-2023 Matryx Pro and Matryx RMK Khaos snowmobiles over concerns their handlebar hooks could pose a puncture hazard during a crash.
