IKEA Canada has issued a recall of some dining ware due to some reports of the products breaking.
In a notice issued May 18, IKEA Canada urged consumers who purchased HEROISK or TALRIKA plates, bowls or mugs to stop using them immediately and contact the company for a refund.
“Customer safety is a top priority at IKEA. All our products are tested and comply with applicable standards and legislation,” IKEA Canada said in the notice. “Despite these testing standards, we have received reports of some HEROISK and TALRIKA products breaking. Due to the potential risk of burns from hot contents upon breakage, we are recalling all HEROISK and TALRIKA plates, bowls, and mugs as a precautionary measure.”
The company said stores that are currently closed due to health restrictions are not able to accomodate returns, and customers are encouraged to wait until their local store reopens to return the items. IKEA Canada said HEROISK and TALRIKA products can simply be taken to the Returns and Exchanges department of an IKEA store, where customers will receive a full refund.
Proof of purchase is not required, and there is no limitation on when the product can be returned, IKEA Canada’s notice said.
The company asked customers to visit IKEA.ca or contact IKEA toll-free at 1-800-661-9807 to get more information and to check for store openings due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“IKEA thanks all customers for their understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience this recall may cause,” the company said.

One thought on Recall Check: IKEA Recalls Certain Plates, Bowls, Mugs Due To Breakage Hazard
Yes I do own their dishware. They are all constantly breaking and cracking. i have had to throw them out as they are dangerous to have around kids. I also don’t have time to go to a store for a recall.
