NUK glass baby bottles recall overview:
- Who: NUK First Choice has issued a recall for around 100 of its Glass Baby Bottles in the US as well as around 77 in Canada.
- Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the outside markings on the glass baby bottles contain a higher lead content than what is legally allowed in both the US and Canada.
- Where: The recall is nationwide in the US and in Canada.
NUK First Choice has issued a recall for around 100 of its Glass Baby Bottles in the US after determining that the outside markings of the bottles contain more lead than is legally allowed and safe.
The NUK recall also includes 77 glass baby bottles which were sold in Canada. The product was originally manufactured in the UK and was not meant to be sold in either the US or Canada, according to a recall notice published on July 28.
NUK is advising consumers to stop using the recalled glass baby bottles immediately and to contact the company for information on how to return them and be given a full refund.
No injuries connected to the recall have been reported, according to NUK, which says the recalled glass baby bottles for around $20 on Amazon from between January 2018 to May 2022.
Recalled NUK glass baby bottles meant for ages zero to six months
The recalled bottles have the brand name NUK written on them in white lettering, are made of glass, are able to hold 240 mL of liquid contents, and are intended to be used by infants aged between zero and six months old, according to the NUK recall.
Consumers who would like to register for a kit in order to return the recalled glass baby bottles for free can do so online. Amazon seller Astir Care will also be directly contacting all known purchasers, according to the NUK recall.
NUK is advising consumers with more questions about the recall to contact the company directly either by phone at 888-685-1238 or online.
