- Who: Health Canada has issued a recall for several lots of hand sanitizer from The Newfoundland Distillery Company.

Health Canada is recalling lots of a hand sanitizer from The Newfoundland Distillery Company because they may contain a too-high concentration of a toxic chemical compound.
The recall notice for The Newfoundland Distillery Company – Fighting Spirit, lot number 20136, was posted to the Health Canada website Apr. 21.
According to the recall, the affected lots may contain an acetaldehyde concentration that is outside the acceptable limit. Acetaldehyde is considered a probable human carcinogen.
Consumers are being asked to stop using the products and follow municipal or regional guidelines on how to dispose of chemicals and other hazardous waste.
Alternatively, consumers can return the product to their local pharmacy for proper disposal.

The notice did not state if there had been any adverse reactions so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.
Health Canada is suggesting customers contact the company if they would like more information about the recall.
It also recommends checking out its Licensed Natural Health Products Database and Drug Product Database for hand sanitizers that have been authorized by Health Canada.
Earlier this year, Health Canada released a list of 48 hand sanitizers that pose health risks to the public. This list follows the department’s Part 1 list of 153 similarly hazardous hand sanitizers that covered June 17, 2020, to Mar. 24, 2021.

I have been sufering from soars from this hand sanitizer so badly and its been almost 2 years and I stopped using it and I still have bad soarsfrom it and were I touched the skin woukd become the same I have scars all over from using to much handsanitizer and I am from New-Brunswick I dont even know how to begin a class action or even have the funds or money to do so
