Decathlon is recalling 124 KIPRUN GPS 550 wrist watches after the watches were found to pose a fire and burn hazard to users.

KIPRUN Consumers Should Stop Using Watches Immediately
Consumers in possession of the running wrist heart-rate monitor watches should immediately stop using them and contact the nearest Decathlon point of sale for a refund, the notice says.
Two lots of the KIPRUN GPS 550 wrist watches are being recalled: black and white watches with the model code 8527651 and black watches with the model code 8527652. The affected products were sold from July 2020 to February 2022.
Earlier this month, Fitbit had to recall its Fitbit Ionic Smartwatch after receiving reports that 78 people in the United States had been burned by an overheated battery. The recall was issued Mar. 2 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which also told consumers to โimmediately stop usingโ the recalled watches.
The KIPRUN GPS 550 wrist watch recall is not the first product recall Decathlon has had to issue. The company is currently recalling the Learn 500 Oxelo scooter due to a breakage risk in the tube of the scooter. In 2020, the company had to recall its BTWIN Baby Seat 100 BCLIP over a potential fall hazard.
