Fridababy is recalling more than 4,600 units of its Canadian model Not-Too-Cold-To-Hold Teethers due to microbial contamination.
The recall was announced on April 24 and applies specifically to the water-filled version of the teethers sold in Canada. These products can be identified by UPC 810028773929 and lot number 0072501001, both of which are printed on the packaging and product inserts.
The Fridababy recall emphasizes that the affected products were exclusively sold in Canada between July and December 2025 and were manufactured in China.
“The version of the product sold in all other markets is different internally (gel-filled) and is not affected,” the Fridababy recall says.
Consumers should not use teethers despite no known health risks
Health Canada discovered that the liquid filling in these teethers contained living microbes, namely Deinococcus ficus and Deinococcus grandis/daejeonenis, which are not associated with known human health risks but are prohibited under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
The recall notice advises consumers to immediately stop using the affected teethers and contact Fridababy on its web page for further instructions on disposal of the product.
