Clark Associates recalled more than 22,000 Lancaster Table & Seating brand high chairs as the chairs can break, posing a fall hazard to children.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website published the recall Feb. 23. It applies to about 22,400 Lancaster Table & Seating brand high chairs sold in the United States and about 52 sold in Canada.
According to the recall, the high chairs can break while children sit in them.
The company has received three reports of high chairs breaking while in use, causing children to fall, the recall states. No injuries have been reported so far, the company says.
Clark Associates is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.
Stop using recalled products immediately, children’s high chair recall states
Clark Associates sold the Lancaster Table & Seating brand high chairs at The Restaurant Store and online at www.therestaurantstore.com and www.webstaurantstore.com from Jan. 2022 through Sept. 2022 for between $43 and $65.
The high chairs have black, mahogany, natural or walnut finishes and were sold in either assembled or ready-to-assemble form. Only high chairs stating “Made in China” are affected. You can see an image of the recalled chairs here.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled high chairs and return them to any of the Restaurant Store locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware or Maryland or contact Clark Associates for a free replacement or store credit, the recall states.
When applying for a replacement or store credit, consumers need to submit a photo of the dismantled or destroyed product.
Last year, Stokke recalled more than 800 baby high chairs across the United States and Canada after six customers reported the chair seats breaking with two children hurt, receiving minor bruises.
