APillsbury has issued a recall for several varieties of its Pillsbury Pizza Pops due to potential E. coli O26 contamination. The affected products include Pizza Pops Pepperoni + Bacon, Pizza Pops Supremo Extreme Pepperoni + Bacon and Pizza Pops FRANK’s RedHot Pepperoni + Bacon, all distributed nationwide in Canada.
The Pillsbury recall, announced on Dec. 21, involves products with specific universal product codes and “Better If Used By” dates ranging from June 9, 2026, to June 14, 2026.
According to the recall notice, the contamination could lead to serious health issues, including nausea, vomiting and, in severe cases, kidney damage or even death. “Food contaminated with E. coli O26 may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,” the recall states.
“Anyone who has eaten any of the implicated products and developed symptoms of E. coli infection should seek medical attention,” the recall advises.
Consumers urged to check their homes for recalled Pizza Pops due to severity of contamination
Consumers are advised to check their homes for these Pillsbury Pizza Pops products and refrain from consuming them. If any of the recalled items are found, they should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
The Pillsbury recall is linked to an ongoing E. coli outbreak, although specific details about the outbreak have not been released by the Public Health Agency of Canada. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.
Pillsbury is actively working to address the issue by removing the affected products from store shelves and advising consumers on the necessary precautions.
