Hacker arrest overview:

A hacker suspected of being responsible for dozens of data breaches — including Ticketmaster and AT&T earlier this year — was reportedly arrested by authorities in Canada late last month.
The Canadian Department of Justice arrested Alexander Moucka — also known as Connor Moucka — on a provisional arrest warrant on Oct. 30 at the request of the U.S. government, reports TechCrunch.
Moucka, who goes by the monikers Waifu and Judische, is reportedly believed to be among a pair of hackers who stole internal data from dozens of companies using the data analysis and cloud services provider Snowflake.
The bad actor reportedly told the independent news website 404 Media in October that he was expecting to be arrested but that he had “destroyed a lot of evidence,” in an effort to “bond out and beat” the charges.
John Binns, Moucka’s alleged co-conspirator, was arrested in Turkey earlier this year, reports TechCrunch.
Hacker arrest comes months after Ticketmaster confirms data breach with Maine Attorney General
Ticketmaster was one of the companies affected by the Snowflake data breach and confirmed the incident with the Maine Attorney General in July.
The ticket sales and distribution company said the data breach occurred between April 2 and May 18 and that more than 1,000 consumers were affected, including those in the U.S. who purchased tickets from the company.
AT&T, meanwhile, confirmed in July that it would begin notifying millions of consumers about a data breach the company said affected “nearly all” of its customers, reports TechCrunch.
The confirmation came only months after a hacker leaked personal data belonging to around 73 million AT&T customers, as a result of a separate data breach, nearly three years after they claimed to have first stolen it.
Also in October, Brazil’s Polícia Federal announced the arrest of a different hacker, known as USDoD, as a result of what they coined “Operation Data Breach.”
USDoD is alleged to have been responsible for the National Public Data data breach, which was announced earlier this year after the hacker leaked nearly 2.7 billion stolen public records on the Breached hacking forum.
