Class action claims B.C. goverment's COVID-19 response excessive and based on flawed science.

The Canadian Society for the Advancement of Science in Public Policy says British Columbia’s response to the coronavirus was too much and it caused an excessive amount of public harm. The organization filed a class action lawsuit saying B.C. overreached its authority.

The lead plaintiff, the Canadian Society for the Advancement of Science in Public Policy (Society), says that its purpose is to advocate for the use of science in the formation of public policy. To that end, it claims that the B.C. government and Provincial Health Officer have based the province’s COVID-19 response on a misunderstanding of statistical data.

“In its response to the COVID-19 virus, the government of British Columbia has invoked extraordinary executive powers predicated on unsubstantiated scientific and legal grounds with catastrophic consequences for British Columbians,” alleges the class action lawsuit.

British Columbia’s response to COVID-19 began on March 18, 2020, with a declaration of a “state of emergency” by the provincial government. The declaration was made under the Emergency Program Act (EPA), allowing the government to exercise “sweeping statutory powers,” claims the Society.

“Despite the relatively low number of persons infected by COVID-19 in British Columbia, the Public Health Officer failed to provide notice that the emergency had passed and the Lieutenant Governor in Council continued to extend the emergency declaration under EPA,” contends the class action lawsuit.

The Society points out that between January and March of 2020, three deaths were attributed to COVID-19. The plaintiff acknowledges that the death rate increased in the following months, but mainly affected those in underfunded and staffed care home facilities.

“While hospitals prepared for an influx of COVID-19 patients, many medical procedures and operations were cancelled under the Provincial Government’s directives,” notes the class action lawsuit. “However, the high number of intensive care COVID-19 patients did not materialize. Most people infected with COVID-19 experienced mild to moderate influenza-like symptoms that abated quickly.”

The Society also points out that on-site and in person teaching activities have since resumed; however, the B.C. government has maintained a state of emergency.

“British Columbia is currently in the longest state of emergency in provincial history,” asserts the lawsuit.

The Society accuses the government of misrepresenting the fatality rate of COVID-19 to maintain this status. Further, health officials are allegedly using inaccurate test results that skew the infection rate higher. In fact, the tests themselves are inaccurate having registered false-positive COVID-19 results for a goat, a kiwi, and papaya, says the Society.

The result has been “excessive public alarm” with harmful effects, including an increase in mental illness, suicide, loss of employment, bankruptcies, and other financial consequences, increases in domestic violence, divorce rates, and fewer services to low income and homeless people.

“Meanwhile the Provincial Government, the Provincial Health Officer, and her staff continue to enjoy economic security through salaries, other benefits, and pensions,” asserts the lawsuit. “All government salaries, other benefits, and pensions are at public expense and far less subject to market conditions than the millions of British Columbians’ lack of economic security caused by the continued state of ‘emergency’.”

The proposed class action lawsuit seeks to represent B.C. residents and businesses who have suffered personal injuries or losses since March 17, 2020, due to the province’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

All evidence is sincerely lacking during this so called public health emergency. Starting with the purification of the virus itself and using a highly questionable pcr test without a purified sample. They have also never showed how many cycle thresholds they are using on the test and the history of the changes to this threshold during the “pandemic”. This alone can manipulate “cases” to blow it way out of proportion. Great job with the lawsuit! I fully support it!

I have chronic disease/pain. Last hospital visit I was made to live in a hallway with 3 or more others. The icu nurse said they had to put us there to keep our ” covid” ward free for “just in case”. There was noone in it but it didn’t matter. I contemplated taking my life as I lay there ill in a public hall. No companionship from loved ones, only strangers hustling around wondering why I was laying there crying. The next 2 times I needed hospital, I struggled at home wondering if I’d die.
I have watched domestic abuse from isolation, kids going hungry from lack of resources, depression rising from hopeless situations. Many deaths, none from ” covid”, rather, suicide/od/desperation..
I see angry people, divided by fear mongering and Stockholm syndrome.
If things don’t change soon, I too will leave this earth in hopes of happier times.

At the beginning of the whole Covid scare, my son was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosaracoma. A rare childhood cancer. It is one of the most aggressive cancers there is and the second fastest growing cancer. A week can determine a persons outcome with this cancer. It needs to be hard and fast.

Being a recently widowed mom of 6, my struggle was already real enough. Then we were faced with NO flights for treatment. I was forced to buy a car so that I could get him to and from treatment. An 8 hour drive, each way.

Their lack of scientific proof and acting on fear, has cost me dearly. I can only imagine what it’s cost other people.

I experienced the worst treatment I could have ever even imagined from multiple government organizations from the moment the Government of British Columbia decided to jump the gun and institute a state of emergency , Begining with the ministry of health as I am disabled and on ministry assistance , I have multiple diagnosed mental health issues along with a life and death history of addiction issues. I was working with Addictions and mental health services and was in the midst of getting admitted into the Royal Jubilee Hospital to be medically stabilized and slowly detoxified from ” the most dangerous substance to detox from ” as per Island health and all leading experts in GhB addiction as it is still fairly new in regards to successful treatment options. I was told by numerous addictions Dr’s that it was a very real possibility of death if I attempted to stop without proper medical care , as I have suffered severe seizures during previous attempts . However the day the state of emergency was called , I was told I would not be able to be admitted now . I was also again told not to stop using , this being a substance not readily available nor affordable on PwD benefits. I lost my home and found myself on the streets with no answers not suggestions from island health , addiction and withdrawal services , and now homeless with my dad disability rate slashed to $900 a month to live off , i lost everything I own, had severe life altering medical And mental health complications that still to this day consume and control my life in a state of hopelessness so bleak that suicide Is a constant voice in my head , I being the impulsive self sabotaging person that I am took this as the time to jump into fentanyl full speed in hopes of finding death or maybe even just a moment or two without the crippling shame , fear , hurt , and desperation that has become my norn. To this very day in still am homeless , struggling now to kick the opiates and no closer to finding my life again then I was when it all began . The ? ministry still refuses any real help. I be have way more examples and alot of people both in the general public as well as in various government positiosns to elaborate and confirm the things I’m stating. I Lost everything I owned , every penny I had zi

They should all be held accountable for the immense damage caused to our communities in the name of fear. We have never followed the science of since the start. In fact in every single emergency situation the first rule is to always remain calm. This never happened we were fed fear right from the start and the message never changed. In the Norther region of the Province we had more Over Dose deaths in one month then we have covid deaths in over a year. We have ruined communities and their measures have greatly increased the number of mental health crisises as well as many other health related issues brought on by these measures. Loved ones died alone and fought for their lives alone due to public health policies. Whats worse is all these measures are based on faulty tests and lack of medical intervention when you are sick. Other doctors including some in BC have said since the start HCQ or Ivermectin or vitamin C and D and zinc all showed great promise when given upon diagnosis of positive covid 19. In BC we DO NOT do any of this. When we are diagnosed with covid we are sent home to quarentine. With no other virus or bug have we ever not given medicine or therapeutics to treat symptoms and it is a crime that we have not done this with covid. We could have saved a lot of lives and they should absolutely be held accountable for all the damage and trauma they caused deliberately.

  6. Natalie says:

Absolutely. My understanding of a plague or pandemic are that areas are infected not here and there individuals, other than care homes. Care homes seem to not ne able to get a handle on this. God bless the pol

  7. Margit Lieder says:

Christian Drosten’s PCR test is 85% to 90% inaccurate. A class action lawsuit by Dr. Rainer Fuellmich is under way in Europe and the US and I believe his test is at the centre of it.
This so called pandemic is the dress rehearsal for the “New World Order”, a communist government by the Elites that will take our basic human rights away.
I am so happy, that we will have a class action lawsuit in B.C. as well and hope it will hold the liars and paid puppets personally responsible.
Dr. Bonnie Henry has worked for the Bill Gates Foundation and probably gets handsomely paid for the fearmongering and lies that come out of her mouth. The whole thing is a total disgrace and will bankcrupt our country.

    1. Baron says:

Exactly the pcr test has been the culprit from day one. Pair this with the fact they haven’t even purified the virus yet leads to the fraud of a lifetime. Those in charge should be held accountable more than just financially.

  8. Raylene Anderson says:

The sooner the better. It’s a slam dunk. Bonnie told the judge in the church action today that she was too busy to provide her amazing proof. The truth is that she has no proof, scientific or otherwise for what she has done. There needs to be real consequences for people like her so they don’t attempt to do it again. Stepping down is not good enough.

    1. Baron says:

I have been asking the health org’s across Canada for proof since this started because the stats never added up. Not one has provided any evidence. Most recently Health Canada replied they have too many sources that it is too hard to provide them to me. Lol. Amazing…definitely gives credit to all the conspiracies coming true yet again.

  9. Sussman Paul says:

The government response has been abysmal. Please sign me up

  10. Bonnie says:

I definitely believe that the scientific evidence to promote these lockdowns are severely lacking and that the over reach by government has been extremely detrimental. Thank you for launching this suit against the government.
