AVEENO ACTIVE NATURALS CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT UPDATE:

  • The Court approved this settlement Feb. 10, 2022.

Canadian consumers who purchased Aveeno Active Naturals products in Canada may be eligible for compensation in the form of a payment — without proof of purchase — thanks to a recent $675,000 class action settlement.

Settlement Class Members include consumers who bought certain Aveeno Active Naturals products in Canada on or before Sep. 28, 2021.

Individuals who purchased the product with the intent to resell it, got injured from the product, or who are related to the defendants are excluded from the Settlement Class.

A full list of the covered products is available under Question No. 3 on the settlement website FAQ page.

According to this class action lawsuit, plaintiffs allege Johnson & Johnson, maker of Aveeno, participated in fraud and deceptive advertising. Several of Aveeno’s Active Naturals products, the plaintiffs allege, were labeled as containing “Active Naturals,” but the products really contained ingredients that were not natural.

Per the class action lawsuit, many of these products reportedly contained synthetic, unnatural, and even potentially harmful ingredients.

The company denies any wrongdoing in this situation, and it does not believe its products are falsely advertised.

The Court has not reviewed the facts of this case, so there has not yet been a determination of guilt or innocence.

Rather than continuing to pursue the lawsuit, both parties believe it’s in their best interests to agree to a settlement.

A number of products fall under the Aveeno brand, including products for body, hair, baby, sun, face, and more.

Class Members are eligible to receive $3.15 for each covered Aveeno Active Naturals product they purchased on or before Sep. 28, 2021, without any proof of purchase. Class Members can claim up to 20 products purchased, for a maximum potential award of $126.

Class Members who do not want to remain a part of the settlement Class have the right to opt out by March 11, 2022.

Class Members who wish to object to the Settlement must do so by Jan. 3, 2022.

Class Members who do not take any action will be bound by the terms of the settlement, but they will not receive compensation.

Class Members who agree with the terms of the proposed Settlement and wish to receive compensation must file a timely claim.

The deadline to file a claim in the Aveeno Active Naturals lawsuit settlement is March 11, 2022.

Hi I missed all this…. the law suit information, rebate etc. My question is, as a user of Aveeno products for many years too and probably Active Naturals, how come my spouse bought a “dispenser” of Aveeno Active Naturals (skin relief moisturizing lotion) last week in North Bay, and on many sites I see the Aveeno products named in the lawsuit for sale on Internet? So the products can still be sold/used? Jan.17,2023
