Andersen Windows is recalling approximately 91,000 window opening control devices due to potential fall and injury hazards.
These devices, which can break or detach after impact, were sold both as kits and as factory-installed accessories on 100 Series casement windows.
The recall was announced on Feb. 26 and includes devices manufactured before Nov. 19, 2025. These devices were available through independent window distributors and online at parts.andersenwindows.com between October 2015 and December 2025, with prices ranging from $9 for individual kits to $220 for factory-installed units.
“The window opening control devices can break or detach after accidental or other impact, allowing the window to be opened, posing fall and serious injury hazards,โ the recall notice says.
Consumers are advised to keep the affected windows closed and locked until a repair can be arranged. Andersen Windows is offering a free in-home repair by an authorized technician for those affected.
To determine if their window is included in the Andersen Windows recall, consumers should check the Product ID number located on the upper right corner of the window.
Recall urges consumers to take precautionary measures
The recall notice emphasizes the importance of taking immediate action to prevent potential injuries.
“Consumers should leave the recalled windows with the opening control devices in the closed and locked position and immediately contact Andersen Windows to schedule a free in-home repair,” the recall notice says.
The company has received eight reports of the devices malfunctioning, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
Andersen Windows says it is actively addressing the issue by providing free repairs to affected consumers. The company has set up a dedicated contact line and email for consumers to arrange repairs.

Andersen Windows reports that no injuries have been linked to the recalled devices so far. The company is not currently facing any legal action over the Andersen Windows recall, but Top Class Actions monitors such recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
