2021 Ford Mustang Panoramic Roof Defect Recall Overview:
- Who: Ford Motor Company
- Why: Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E models in Canada due to defective panoramic sunroofs.
- Where: Canada
Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 1,800 Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles in Canada due to the risk of the sunroof detaching.
The recall affects 1,812 select 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E models produced at the Ford Cuautitlan Assembly Plant, Ford reports.
In affected vehicles, the glass panel of the panoramic sunroof might not be properly attached, the company says. As a result, the glass part of the sunroof can become loose and separate from the vehicle.
Ford Motor Company said there are no known accidents or injuries related to the issue so far.
The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is an all-electric five-door crossover and the first all-electric Mustang ever released. It retails for upwards of $40,000.
Drivers with affected vehicles should wait to hear from Ford to arrange a fix. The Ford dealers will then clean and install additional adhesive to the panoramic roof glass.
Meanwhile, in the United States, a pair of Mustang drivers filed a class action lawsuit against Ford Motor Company earlier this month alleging Ford failed to disclose that its 2015-2017 Ford Mustangs come with a dangerous trunk lid defect.

One thought on Recall Alert: 2021 Ford Mustang Sunroof Can Separate From the Vehicle
I am a 2021 mach e mustang new owner and Ford has misrepresented this cars charging capabilities. I have contacted Ford multiple times and no one has answers. I have attempted to order products for the mustang off their site and they cannot even sell the parts so I can keep a charge. What can I do? The car barely keeps charge and they dont have charging infrastructure to maintain it. Ford dropped the ball on this one BIG TIME. – Unhappy Mustang Owner
